Questions
When are bibs released?
Usually several months before the exam. New and revised bibs show up here after the Navy posts them on Navy COOL.
What's the difference between Regular and Substitute bibs?
Substitute exams are given after the Regular exam to sailors who couldn't take it as scheduled, and they can cite different references and editions. Study the list for the exam you're taking.
I'm in the Reserve. Is this for me?
Yes. Reserve (SELRES) bibs have their own pages, because their references and editions differ from the active duty lists. Switch to Reserve when you search.
Are these the official bibs?
They come from the bibliographies the Navy Advancement Center publishes. NavyBibs is independent and not affiliated with the Navy, so always confirm your bib on Navy COOL.
What if my bib changes?
The Advancement Center sometimes revises a bib after it's published. NavyBibs updates the page once the Navy posts the revision, and each bib page links to the official file on Navy COOL so you can confirm the latest.
